இறைவி

"Iraivi" was exactly what I felt about my own mom and the way society has kept women the way they are. I have always struggled unable to express even in words the same and was stunned to see that this amazing piece of art did precisely that along with a know how the Cinema is being maundered on the grounds of the modern day economics (A shitty scenario established for the benefit of few on the way polluting the art itself - A pathetic state, any field in any state is in now, in this market dictated society).
Hats off to Mr. Karthik Subbaraj for the aesthetic manner of handling such delicate yet significant attribute of the society & showing utmost definition & precision in the characterisation, choice of role, frames, location,... that has pretty much become part of this piece of art - strong yet not apparently seen attributes of இறைவி.
And maintaining that this one is more of a director's kiddo than a puppet's show, even with an immense cast & a spectacular display of their own talents, I can say for sure not one individual can take all the applauds for this Masterpiece, the Mirror - Yeah, a fucking mirror of the piteous society we are part of.
"The moment, the financier (in the movie) utters what he feels about making movies and Selling them, I see it is the sorry state of the society that has been reflected. Taking it personally is a blunder (which is exactly what I feel was intended in the scene - the sorry state, not of individuals, but of the society, of how it conceives the whole idea of what Cinema is!)"
This one spotted by a friend of mine,
"the scene where the script goes like
'.. கலைத்தாய் பெத்த கொழந்த........
..நீங்க வரலைன்னா என்ன கொன்றுப்பான்டா.. செத்துருப்பேன்..'
was fitting to be seen an allegory where it's the Art of cinema's ultimatum, in this part of the world, itself & with the bunch of new age artists like Mr. Ennachi in the field of acting and You Mr. Karthik Subbaraj alongside few other fresh creators in the area of producing, rescuing it when it's nearly over and done with.
Or cinema in the hands of crowd pleasers on the grounds of Commercial drive"

was a reflection of the creator's flair.
